BIOGRAPHY

Singer Leslie Feist began her career as a teenage punk rocker in Calgary, Alberta. In her twenties, Feist broke free from her roles of indie rock guitarist and performance artist and had a top 30 pop record in France. By the time Feist released her second album, Let It Die, the international press began catching on to her gifts. Canada’s national entertainment magazine, Exclaim, boasted of her matured sound: “The self-assured stage presence, the laissez faire good looks, and that unbelievable voice all make Feist seem larger than life …” Let It Die saw its American debut in 2005. Open Season was released in 2006 and The Reminder hit shelves in the spring of 2007. Supported by singles like “My Moon My Man” and “1234,” the album became the year’s best-selling item on iTunes, took home five Juno Awards and earned four Grammy nominations. Feist’s fourth studio album was preceded by a flurry of viral videos that offered choice bits from selected tracks, leading up to the official release of Metals’ first single, “How Come You Never Go There.” The 14-track recording, which featured duets with Vanessa Carlton and Marina & the Diamonds, arrived on October 4, 2011. Leslie Feist continues to rock the world.
