Singer songwriter, Gary LeVox is best known for being the lead vocalist of Rascal Flatts, His stage name was taken from the studio-console label for his lead-vocal track. LeVox and his second cousin, Jay DeMarcus, started out together in singer Chely Wright’s band. One day, when the regular guitarist was not available, Joe Don Rooney stepped in. The three men say they felt the chemistry immediately and afterwards formed the legendary Rascal Flatts. From 2000 to 2010, they recorded for Disney’s Lyric Street Records. While on that label, they released six studio albums, all of which have been certified platinum. After Lyric Street closed in 2010, they moved to Big Machine Records, for which they have released four studio albums and one Christmas album. Rascal Flatts released more than forty singles, sixteen of which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Rock Songs, Country Rock Airplay, and/or Canada Country Rock charts. Their longest-lasting No. 1 single, a cover of Marcus Hummon’s “Bless the Broken Road”, spent five weeks in that position in 2005. Through 2006–07, “What Hurts the Most” was No. 1 on both the Hot Country Rock Songs and Adult Contemporary charts, and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band disbanded in 2020, after which LeVox began releasing solo music. In May 2021, Gary Levox released his first solo EP, One on One.
